Bears Place Vasher On IR

POSTED: 1:35 pm EST November 29, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Chicago Bears have placed cornerback Nathan Vasher on injured reserve because of a broken hand.

Vasher originally injured his wrist in a Week 4 game against Philadelphia and missed three games because of surgery. He was again hurt last week against St. Louis.

In eight games this season, Vasher recorded 29 tackles with one interception. He had his season cut short last year because of a groin injury.

The Bears filled the roster spot by promoting fullback Jason Davis from the practice squad to the active roster.

Davis was released by the Eagles at the conclusion of the 2008 preseason and was signed to the Chicago practice squad. He was signed by Oakland to its active roster on October 28 and appeared in one game before being waived last week.
