Bills Unsure Of Edwards' Status After Concussion

POSTED: 5:25 pm EDT October 6, 2008

(Sports Network) - Buffalo Bill head coach Dick Jauron was noncommittal on the status of quarterback Trent Edwards, who left Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals with a concussion.

Jauron, speaking at a press conference on Monday, said that Edwards is following the protocol the Bills have for all players who sustain concussions. The Bills have a bye this week, and next play on October 19, when they host San Diego.

Jauron would not say whether Edwards will be available for the game against the Chargers.

"We'll continue to follow it as we move along, and we'll see how it goes," said Jauron. "It's a good week for us to be on a bye."

Edwards completed three straight passes to start Sunday's game against Arizona, but took a nasty blow to the head on his third pass. The ball was caught by James Hardy but Arizona's Adrian Wilson had a clean line to the QB and leveled Edwards with a forceful hit.

J.P. Losman struggled after taking over under center. Losman accounted for three turnovers in throwing for 220 yards on 15-of-21 passing with a touchdown and an interception for the previously unbeaten Bills, who lost 41-17 to fall to 4-1.
