BOSTON -- Police are looking for a man who tried to abduct a 16-year-old girl near Kiley Park in Lynn on Tuesday afternoon.

The girl told police she was walking on Burrill Avenue at around 3:30 p.m. when a black man with medium-to-dark skin in his mid-20s to early-30s drove up in a blue Toyota and tried to pull her into the car, police spokesman Lt. William Sharpe told the Lynn Item.

Witnesses confirmed the girl's story, Sharpe said. The girl got away and was not injured.

The man, wearing a red baseball hat backward, was last seen driving toward Broad Street. Sharpe could not confirm if the man was armed.
