BOSTON -- The son of a Massachusetts representative was arrested Friday on drug charges, according to Everett Police Chief Steven Mazzie.

Gus Smith, 19, son of Rep. Steven Smith, of Everett, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was arraigned Monday in Malden District Court and released on personal recognizance.

He's scheduled to return to court for a pre-trial conference on Nov.26.
