A small plane crashed in Bristol on Wednesday afternoon when it struck power lines, injuring two people on board.

The plane, which is registered to an owner in Massachusetts, crashed into woods behind the Freudenberg Plant on Pleasant Street.

A woman on the plane was taken by helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, and a man onboard was taken to Franklin Regional Hospital. Officials said both were conscious when crews arrived at the scene.

Witnesses said the plane was taking off from an airport in Bristol, but it didn't have enough power. It struck power lines about 300 feet from the runway and landed in a back yard.
